Number 1 Uk Americana chart on Reverbnation
I got a nice surprise when I checked the Reverbnation charts today. I'm number 1! UK Americana chart. It might not last so I've taken a screen-shot to commemorate my first national number 1. :-)

You say your music is Americana Jim but what does that actually mean?
Actually it wasn't me who said my music was Americana - other people said it. But what is it? I thought I'd better find out - just to check whether they are right or not.
Wikipedia tells us that,
"Americana is an amalgam of roots music fused by the confluence of the shared and varied traditions that make up the American musical ethos; specifically those sounds that are merged from folk, country, rhythm & blues, rock & roll and other external influential styles."
Hmmm, roots music - certainly, folk and country - for sure - and other influential style - well, can't argue with that. I'll not argue against the notion that my music has been heavily influence by American styles.
Just as an aside, I'm liking that 'confluence' word; wonder if I can work it into a conversation sometime. That'll really make me sound smart (not).
One aspect of Americana that I can certainly related to is the idea that it is music that exists out-with the 'commercial mainstream'. In as much as I've had no notable commercial success - then that clearly fits.
